What is middle ear infection?

Middle ear infection is a very common condition which affects children more than adults. The middle ear houses the ear drum and 3 little bones in an air filled space. When you have a middle ear infection, the air filled middle ear becomes filled with fluid. It's like getting a "cold in the ear" that can cause pain and make it hard to hear for a little while.

Treatment for middle ear infection

Middle ear infections are treated medically through the use of antibiotics (prescribed by a doctor) and/or inserting grommets by an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist.

Regular eye examinations with an optometrist or ophthalmologist are essential to detect and address astigmatism, especially since visual needs can change over time. If you suspect you have astigmatism or are experiencing changes in your vision, it's recommended to consult with your trusted Spec-Savers optometrist for a comprehensive eye examination.
