What is itchy ears?


 
Itchy ears, as the name suggests, refers to an uncomfortable tickling or irritation sensation inside or around the ear. It’s a common issue that can have various causes, ranging from mild to more serious conditions.

 

What causes itchy ears?

Itchy ears can be caused by a number of factors including:

 
  •   Ear wax build up
  •   Fungal infections
  •   Foreign bodies in the ear canal
  •   Ear infections
  •   Allergies

Treatment for itchy ears  

 
Itchy ears is treated medically with prescribed ear drops and/or antihistamine depending on the cause. It is important not to use foreign objects in the ears to scratch the itchy as this might damage the delicate structures of the ears.
